Mary Alice Hall
- February 28, 2025

Mary Alice Williams Hall was born on June 9, 1923, in Moorhead, Mississippi. She passed away in the presence of her family on February 22, 2025. She was 101 years old.
Mary Alice was the 9th child of 13 children born to James and Mary Williams. She was preceded in death by siblings Frankie Williams Sutherland, James Williams, Jr., Alma Jean Williams Earley, Lee Eddie Williams, Ruth Williams Russell, Oscar Williams, Emmett Curtis Williams, Elaine Williams Boone, Douglas Williams, John Williams, and Richard Williams. The sole sibling survivor is her dear sister Thelma Williams Roberts, of Toledo, Ohio.
Mom, known as Aunt Alice and Alice to many, lived an extraordinary and long life. She is survived by her loving children, Mary Elaine Hall, Edison Hall, Linda Wallingford (nee Hall), and Glen Hall (Annette) as well as her grandchildren Tiffany, Carla (Ricky), Jacqueline (Dan), Jason (Julie), Donovan, Miranda and Aly (Chasity). She was a Great Grandma to Samantha, Austin, Cameron, J.J, W.A., Eli, Dominic, Sophia, and K.D. She was an Aunt and Great-Aunt to so many caring family members.
One of thirteen children, she would often reflect fondly of the time she spent with her brothers and sisters. Her amazing spirit, tough work ethic, and strong character shown through in all that she did throughout her life. As a Rosie the Riveter during World War II at Orchard Field (now O’Hare Airport), she assembled the fuselages and wings on bombers. After the war, a long government and city career followed. She then became a realtor and retired at the young age of 86.
She took an immense amount of pride in raising her children and providing the very best for them. Mom taught resilience, prayer, and education to give us a foundation for where we could go in life. She supported her grandchildren with school pickups, music lessons, and after school meals. Her favorite vacations were ones to Las Vegas to enjoy time in the dry dessert heat and win a jackpot or two.
Later in life she enjoyed quick visits in her home, barbeques, phone calls to family members, and of course, more trips to the casino.
There are far too many stories and wonderful chapters of her life to share here on a page. She blessed each and every one with her knowledge, honesty, kindness, and selflessness over 101 beautiful years.
She is further survived by a host of nieces and nephews who loved her great spirit of warmth and kindness.
The family asks that you keep mom alive in your heart today and beyond.
