William Synnott Sr.
Beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather
William Harold Synnott Sr., 76, of Lake George, NY, formerly of Waterbury, CT, passed away peacefully with the love of his life, Patricia, and their children by his side. Bill was one of eight children born to the late John and Ruth (Dailey) Synnott on January 29, 1949.
Bill was a proud graduate of Naugatuck Valley Community College, where he earned his associate degree. He went on to work at Scovill Manufacturing, where he dedicated many years of service. A man of deep faith and commitment, Bill was a longtime parishioner of the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception Church in Waterbury, CT and Sacred Heart Church in Lake George, NY. He was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus, celebrating 50 years of service. He held the role of Financial Secretary and was active in numerous charitable and community efforts throughout his life.
Bill and his wife, Patricia, cherished their travels visiting their children and grandchildren but found the greatest joy in simply being together. Bill was well known for his quick wit and unforgettable one-liners which never failed to bring a smile or laughter to those around him.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 55 years, Patricia, and their 5 children: William (Marivel) Synnott of Virginia, Tara McGrath of Connecticut, John (Navpreet) Synnott of California, Mary (Ronald) Turmel of Connecticut, and Patty Synnott of Arizona. He was the proud grandfather to 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren: Ashley (Harris) and Dylan (McGrath), Tiffani-Lynn and Nico (Synnott), Remington and Ryder (Turmel), Arya and Rowan (Synnott), Oliver (Harris) and Paisleigh (Synnott). He leaves behind his brother Tom Synnott of Virginia; sisters Maryjoan Jones and Eileen Dellario both of Connecticut, as well as many nieces and nephews all of whom will hold his memory close. William was predeceased by his parents John and Ruth, brothers Robert (Bucky), John (Jackie) and Raymond as well as his sister Ruth O’Neill.
William’s legacy of laughter, love, faith and devotion to family and community will live on in all who knew him.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place 11:00 AM, on Wednesday, October 15, 2025 at Sacred Heart Church, 50 Mohican Street, Lake George 12845 with a reception to follow in the parish hall.
Family and friends are invited to and may call from 10:00- 11:00 AM on Wednesday, October 15, 2025 at Sacred Heart Church.
A Memorial Mass will take place 10:00AM, on Saturday, November 22, 2025 at the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception Church, 74 W. Main Street, Waterbury, CT 06702, with a reception to follow.
The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to the staff at Glens Falls Hospital for the compassionate care provided to Bill during his time there. A special and heartfelt thank you is also extended to the staff of the Gateway House of Peace and the nurses of Community Hospice for their loving care in Bill’s final days. Their kindness and dedication are nothing short of angelic.
