William T. Sinnott, 89, of Springfield, died at 9:30 am, Monday, November 17, 2025 at HSHS St. John’s Hospital. He was born September 5, 1936 in Loogootee, Indiana to Thomas Michael and Bertha Elizabeth (Kidwell) Sinnott. He married Wilma L. Lannan on February 20, 1960 and she preceded him death on May 3, 2025.
Also preceding him in death are his parents, two sisters, one brother and two infant children.
Survivors include one daughter, Carol L. (Tod) Rowe of Springfield; two sons, William T. (Anna) Sinnott II of Springfield and Michael A. Sinnott of Wheat Ridge, CO; six grandsons, William “Will” Sinnott III, Jacob Sinnott, Barry (Ashley) Rowe, Thomas “TJ” (Laurel) Rowe, Kenneth (Paige) Rowe III and Michael Rowe; three granddaughters, Faith Sinnott, Katy Sinnott and Alexxia Sinnott and five great grandchildren, Lucy, Wendy, Penny, Lillian and Caliahan Rowe.
William was a U.S. Navy Corpsman serving during the Korean War. He was a member of Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Knights of Columbus, Tolton Council 4th Degree Bishop McNicholas and Equestrian Order Knights of the Sepulcher.
He has been a resident of Springfield since 2004. William was a founding partner of CW3M Company Inc., an environmental consulting firm since 1992.
Visitation: 4 – 6 pm, Tuesday, November 25, 2025 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.
Memorial Mass: 10 am, Wednesday, November 26, 2025 at Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception with The Very Reverend Brian Alford officiating. Burial to follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery where Military Honors will be conducted.
Memorial Contributions may be made to Catholic Charities or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
