William Rull

William Lewis “Pete” Rull, age 80, of Camden, NC, died at Waterbrooke of Elizabeth City Assisted Living on August 3, 2025. Born on September 28, 1944, in Norfolk, VA, Pete led a life marked by dedication and service. He spent his career with the Metropolitan Police Department in Washington, DC, where he served with distinction until his retirement. Pete’s commitment to his work and community was a testament to his character and integrity. He was a cherished member of Sawyers Creek Baptist Church, where he found fellowship and faith throughout his life.

Pete is survived by his wife, Linda Kight Rull; his son, Brandon A. Rull and wife, Missy, of Camden, NC; two sisters, Anna Marie Pritchard of Elizabeth City, NC and Rose Baum of Camden, NC; two brothers, Travis McPherson of MD and Larry McPherson of Camden, NC; and two grandchildren, Waylon Rull and Gavin Cox. Pete is preceded in death by his parents, Hubert Toxey McPherson and Margaret Egan McPherson, as well as his two brothers, Sammy Rull and Jimmy Rull.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at Sawyer’s Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Kevin Buzzard officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to Albemarle Home Care and Hospice, 1129 Horseshoe Road, Eizabeth City, NC 27909 or to Sawyer’s Creek Baptist Church, 241 Sawyers Creek Road, Camden, NC 27921.
