William Aycock Billings, age 87, passed away in the early morning hours on May 17, 2025, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s dementia. William, fondly known as Bill, was a lifelong resident of Tipton County, a graduate of Munford High School, Class of 1955. He served in the Army, twice, after being recalled to serve his country. After he completed his Army duty, he met and married the love of his life Joan Pinner Billings. After his tour in the Army, he returned to Tipton County and settled down. He raised a family in Atoka. He retired from Kimberly Clark after 35 + years of service. Needing to stay busy, Bill later drove for several local dealerships transporting cars. Bill liked to hunt and fish. He loved to travel, often driving out West to see the county and visit national parks. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Lucille Billings; his brothers, Harold, Earl, Mike and Leslie; and his sister, Marilyn Morris. Bill was the last Billings brother. Bill lives on in our hearts and our memories. He was a wonderful husband to his beloved wife, Joan, of almost 64 years. He was a father to his sons, Wyatt (Dawn) and Greg (Angela). He was a Papaw to his grandchildren, Cody, Matthew (Alexa), Nathan (Jenny) and Kayla. He was a Great Papaw to his great-granddaughter, Eloise. His wife would like to acknowledge the following people that helped Bill during this difficult time: To Bill’s caregivers, Regina Wilson, Sherrie Welch and my nephew Randy Pickard for their dedication and support during our time of need. It is very appreciated. You have been a blessing to me and Bill. Thank you for all you have done to help us. Charles Hambick, who has made many visits to us. Thank you for your thoughtfulness, love and care you have shown us. I appreciate you. To the Administration of Hospice: All the visits the nurses have made and cared for Bill and the health care workers. Thank you and appreciate the help you have given us. Bill and I have been blessed with faithfulness and good care. Pastor Greg Timke and Larry Howard: Thank you for the visits, calls, prayers, your ministry of care and love you have shown us.
To honor Bill’s memory, the family asks that memorials be made to the charity of their choice.
