Warren Peabody

Beals—Warren Peabody (Bubba Warren), 90, peacefully passed July 12, 2025 at Seal Cove Assisted Living in Ellsworth, Maine. He was born August 7, 1934 and was a life-long resident of Beals Island, Maine.

Warren was preceded in death by his parents Obed & Clara Peabody, as well as his siblings, Clifford Alley, Jr., Edith Richardson, Unabelle Alley and Velma Alley. He is survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.

Over the course of his life, he wore many hats in the community, from driving the bus for the sardine factory to working for many years at the Alley’s Bay grocery store and buzzing around the island in the summer mowing lawns. He was also the unofficial taxi for those that needed help getting to the doctor, doing errands or picking up their medicine/mail. He did it unselfishly and never expected anything in return.

Warren was a man of faith and lived his life as a devoted servant of God. He was kind and generous, always had a smile and never hesitated to offer a helping hand to those in need. He was a humble man and many of his acts of kindness went unspoken.

In his earlier days, he enjoyed cruising around in his candy apple red convertible or sitting on the roof of his parents’ home in the Flying Place to watch the airplanes overhead on a lazy summer afternoon. He had a great passion for collecting miniature cars and a deep love for his side kick, Bubba the Cat.

He lived a rich life not of wealth but filled with goodness, laughter and a kind heart.
