Walter Russell, Jr.

Walter Lee Russell Jr. was born on August 20th 1958, to Olive and Walter Russell Sr. in Spring Valley, Ohio. He passed away on September 6th, at his home in Southfield, Michigan. He was married to Virginia (Ginny) Gemborys on Feb 3, 1982. Together they had a son, Walter III, and also a daughter Lori, from a previous marriage. Walter was in the Marines and the Army Reserves. He applied himself to many trades and various careers through his life but was a water technician for a vast majority of those years. He acquired many certifications and completed an extensive amount of courses throughout his lifetime. He was a man of many talents. He loved his arts and crafts. From painting, to sewing, the man did it all. His beautiful homemade cards and jewelry pieces, are treasured reminders of the deep love, and admiration he had for his family. He was a strong believer in family and community and was always trying to help others in some way.

Walter is survived by his loving wife, Ginny. Son and daughter-in-law, Walter and Alisha Russell, daughter and son-in-law Lori and John Crosby, granddaughter Dylan Crosby, sister Jacque Philo, a niece and nephew, as well as 3 great nieces and a nephew. He was proceeded in death by his mother and father Olive and Walter Russell Sr.

Big Walter has requested that there be no funeral services. We respect and honor his final wishes. There will be a dinner/celebration of life at a later date and time. Any flowers or donations can be arranged directly through the family.
