Virginia Ann (Ginny) Jespersen died peacefully at the Good Samaritan Society on Monday, September 22, 2025.
She was born January 25, 1938 to Harry and Alice Sutherland in International Falls.
Growing up, Ginny learned how to drive tractor and bale hay; she helped her Dad with all of the farm work needed but her passion was horses. She enjoyed giving children from church wagon rides. During the winter, she would lay down under the covers since her horse knew the way home.
Ginny worked at Ewald’s farm, Harry Erickson’s store and Riley’s Sporting Goods. She later volunteered at the Senior Center cooking for several years.
Ginny married Wayne Jespersen on August 31st, 1957 and had four sons together. She had many hobbies from curling, ice fishing, cooking and baking.
She would say her favorite would be being active members in 4H where her boys learned how to raise and care for animals. Showing them at the Littlefork Fair and sometimes State Fair was always exciting.
She loved everyone and her family were always shown that through Sunday meals. She dotted on her grandchildren and would do anything for them. She will be missed dearly but left us so many memories to cherish. We were blessed to know one of the best.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne; son, Jay, and niece, Cheryl Stemm.
Survivors include sons, Wayne “Chip” (Debbie), Scott (Julie), Brian (Heidi), daughter-in-law, Judy; sisters, Donna (Dick Hatt), Joan (Robert Johnson), and Evie (Huffer Christenson).
Grandchildren include, Jenna (Kevin Brown), Emily (Brian Anderson), Andrew Jespersen and fiance, Leah Shaw, Benjamin Jespersen, Ashley Jespersen and boyfriend, Brandon Holbert and Melissa Kilde.
Great-grandchildren include, Brody, Noah Brown, Owen, Cameron, Kinzee Anderson, Mila Jespersen, Hayes Holbert, Jane and Claire Davis and Logan Wilkins.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, October 26 at the Ranier Community Building from 12:00 pm – 3:00 pm.
