Virgia Edna Spigles, 89, widow of Clifton Spigles, Jr., passed away peacefully in her home on Saturday, September 13, 2025, in Georgetown, Kentucky. Virgia was born December 14, 1935, to the late Walker and Nettie Goldey Barrett in Powell County, Kentucky. Virgia was a woman of faith and was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church for many years. Virgia was a loving mother, daughter, wife, granny and friend. She enjoyed gardening and tending to flowers. She loved cross stitching and crocheting, an interest she shared with her daughter, Edna and a lover of purple. Virgia will be deeply missed.
Virgia will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Edna Jones of Stamping Ground, Her two brothers: Donald (Rella) Barrett of Brownsville, Indiana, and Gary Cope of Booneville, Kentucky.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in her passing by her son, Clifton Walker Spigles, her son-in-law, David Jones and her four sisters: Barbara Cope, Mary Barrett, Fern Highland and Peggy Swanson.
A visitation will be held Thursday, September 18, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Tucker, Yocum & Wilson Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 PM with Barry Hibbard officiating, The burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery in Lexington, Kentucky with Jamie Hoffman, Wyatt Hoffman, Steven Popp, Frank Patterson, Carey Burford, and Kesha Bruin serving as pallbearers and Crystal Wainscott serving as an honorary pallbearer.
