Vincenza Pluchino, 98 years old, passed away peacefully in Nyack, NY, on October 13, 2025. She was a resident of Pearl River, NY, after spending most of her life in Bronx, NY. Born on August 17, 1927, in Giovinazzo (Bari), Italy, she was a devoted wife to the late John Andrew Pluchino. She was a loving mother to John Angelo who predeceased her, Anthony, and Maria Maier, and she was equally loved as a mother by daughter-in-law Yvonne and son-in-law Fred. She was a cherished and doting grandmother to Dominic, Christian, Joanna and Tess. She will also be missed by her loving nieces and nephews and their families. She is predeceased by her beloved sisters Melina, Santina and Mauro.
Vincenza was very devoted to her Catholic faith, including charitable work at Foyer de Charite in Quebec, Canada and later at Providence Rest Nursing Home in Bronx, NY. She regularly attended Mass and watched daily televised Mass and services when she could no longer go in person.
Vincenza’s greatest vocation was supporting her husband and raising her children, and she was just as devoted to being there for her grandkids. She was an outstanding cook of Italian food and passed on that passion to her children. Her specialties were delicious pasta dishes and sweet treats, especially her famous ricotta cheese pies. She was greatly loved and admired for her sweet disposition and constant optimism. In her later years, she delighted in watching her favorite classic TV programs and cooking shows with her family.
Private funeral services will take place on October 16th at Saint Margaret’s Church in Pearl River, NY, followed by internment at Saint Raymond’s Cemetery in Bronx, NY
