Victoria L. Richards, 78, of Mount Vernon passed away on June 23, 2025 at Knox Community Hospital. She was born on October 23, 1946 to Raymond and Lela Anna (Smithhisler) Burson in Mount Vernon, OH.
Victoria was a former member of the Amity United Methodist Church. She loved giving money to charities. She supported The Humane Society and Israel Charities. Victoria had a boarding house for those in need in Mount Vernon. She enjoyed helping all people. She also enjoyed gardening, growing flowers, cooking, baking, garage and yard sales. Her favorite flowers to grow were lilacs. Her favorite pastime was weeding her flower beds. Victoria was very independent. Spending time with her family was her greatest joy.
Victoria was survived by her children Michelle Jean (Thomas Dible) Miller of Mount Vernon, OH, Lori (Mike Shafer) Justice of Utica, OH, Jeffrey Alan (Johanna) Miller of Galena, OH; grandchildren Danielle Arian, Devin (Maggie Tiegs) Frazee, Michael Vilfer II, Rachel Matthews, Hilary (Alex) Switz, Holly (Cory) Shafer, Milby Miller, Camilla Miller, Gabriel Miller; great-grandchildren Rylan, Tori, Kinsley, Mia, Everleigh, Benjamin, Preston, Isaiah, Everly, Gavin, Sage and Carly; a brother Biff (Susan) Smithisler of Columbus, OH; her dog “Buddy” was her best friend and companion.
Victoria was preceded in death by her parents, siblings Tom Burson, Ann Jordan, Sandy Porter, Sonny Burson and Jenny DeBoard.
Calling hours will be Wednesday, July 2, 2025 from 11:00am – 1:00pm at Dowds – Snyder Funeral Home, 201 Newark Road, Mount Vernon, OH 43050. Funeral services will be at 1:00pm with a graveside service to follow at Amity Cemetery.
