Victoria Kefale

With deep love and sorrow, we announce the passing of Victoria Kefale, who was found deceased on July 10, 2025, just six days before her 73rd birthday. Born Victoria Ray on July 16, 1952, in Grady, Arkansas, she was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend—known for her resilience, honesty, and unmistakable smile that could light up a room.

Victoria left Arkansas in the 1960s as a young bride, seeking a better life and eventually planting roots in Detroit, Michigan. There, she raised her three daughters with unshakable strength, courage, and determination—navigating single motherhood after her divorce with grace and grit. She worked as a talented hairstylist and beautician for over 20 years, always finding beauty in others and helping them see it in themselves.

Later in life, she continued her journey of reinvention. After spending cherished years in Atlanta with her youngest daughter and grandson, she returned to Arkansas in 2012 to reconnect with her roots. She surprised everyone—except those who knew her best—by going back to school in her 60s, earning a Bachelor of Science in Health and beginning work as a devoted caregiver to the elderly. Her patients were often as uplifted by her presence as they were by her care.

In February 2024, Victoria was diagnosed with leukemia. True to form, she faced it with quiet courage and fought her way into remission, leaving a lasting impression on the doctors and nurses who cared for her. They were touched not only by her determination, but also by her humility, kindness, and will to live.

Victoria found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved dancing, traveling, laughing with friends, and even taking bold rides on a four-wheeler with the wind in her face. But nothing brought her more peace than her garden—where flowers bloomed under her tender care, and where she could feel close to God in her own way. Though not traditionally religious, Victoria believed deeply in the power of prayer and faith, often talking to her daughters about the spiritual journey of life.

She is lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her three daughters, Stephanie, Anita, and Cassandra; and her four grandchildren, Altramease, Jasmine, Jalen, and Robert who will carry forward her legacy of resilience, authenticity, and unconditional love.

Though she has left this world, the seeds of strength and self-determination she planted live on in those who knew her best. Victoria’s story is not defined by how she passed, but by how she lived—with boldness, beauty, and an unapologetic commitment to being herself.
