Victim of fatal Carson City house fire identified

The Carson City Coroner’s Office has identified the decedent from the August 16, 2025 structure fire at 2051 Joshua Drive as 78-year-old David Harold Cochenour who was a known resident at the address.
Cochenour died at Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center on August 17, 2025.
Final autopsy findings are pending. The cause of the fire remains under investigation with the CCSO Investigation’s Division and the CCFD Fire Marshall.
