It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of V. June Timms, 89, of Flower Mound, Texas, who passed away peacefully on 19 September 2025, surrounded by loved ones.
June was born on June 17, 1936, in Turnersville, Texas to Parker Kellum and Maud Turner Humes. She grew up in Lamesa, Texas, and later went on to West Texas State University. Through her life, June was known for her incredible kindness and dedication to her family and faith. She served her church in many ways including through her training in the Stevens Ministry. She touched countless lives as a dedicated and compassionate education professional.
June was the devoted wife of Rex Timms, the loving mother of Steve and Russell Timms, mother-in-law to Susan Timms wife of Steve and Joan Timms wife of Russell and the cherished grandmother of Allyson Patterson, Ryan Timms, Meredith Staggers and Landon Timms. She also leaves behind her sister Dorice Worley, sister-in-law Pat Humes, her nieces Paige Humes LeMasters, Pamela Humes, Patricia Humes Speight, Matthew Worley and Christopher Worley, 5 grandnieces, 2 grandnephews and 10 great grandchildren all of whom will carry her memory forward. She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved brother Parker Morrel Humes.
June traveled the world beginning with her overseas teaching as part of the Department of Defense Dependents Schools in Germany. She also traveled to many destinations around the world with her loving husband Rex.
June will be remembered for her kind heart, welcoming smile and her ability to always make everyone welcome in her presence. She loved life with family and her countless friends from across the country. She loved sports and especially her beloved Dallas Cowboys.
A celebration of life will be held on September 24 at 11am at First Christian Church in Granbury, Texas. Friends and family are invited to gather in remembrance.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to Aspen Healthcare and caregiver Monica Niezgoda for their support during this time.
