Train rides this weekend at Railroad Museum in Carson City, Heritage Days returns to Virginia City

All aboard! The Nevada State Railroad Museum steam crew has prepared historic engines for train rides this Labor Day weekend in Carson City. Families and train buffs are welcome to the museum this weekend to take a ride behind historic locomotives Glenbrook and Virginia & Truckee No. 25.
Train rides are from 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
The museum has been impacted by a network outage affecting virtually all of the State of Nevada’s IT systems since last weekend. Despite the network outage, the museum is open to the public 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. through Monday.

Credit cards and cash will be accepted for museum admission and train rides. The museum store is only accepting cash or checks during the network outage.

Elsewhere, The hills of Comstock will be echoing with booming cannons this Labor Day weekend with the return of Heritage Days this Saturday and Sunday, August 30-31.
There will be battle re-creation each day at 11:20 a.m. and 3 p.m. plus a Champagne Battle Train on Saturday evening at 7pm. Reservations are strongly recommended. Tickets and prices are at virginiatruckee.com.
