Thomas O’Dell

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Thomas P. O’Dell, age 78, who departed this life on July 8, 2025, in Canton, Ohio. Born on December 11, 1946, Tom lived a life marked by service, dedication, and unwavering faith.

A proud veteran of the United States Army, Tom served his country during the Vietnam War from May 2, 1966, until his honorable discharge on May 10, 1968. Following his service, he devoted 37 years of his professional life as an iron worker at Henry Selinsky Company, where he was a valued union member of Ironworkers Local 550.

Tom was known not only for his sense of humor but for his willingness to help everyone he met. He was an active member of Fellowship Baptist Church. He also engaged in various local veterans’ outreach programs and participated in Christian men’s support groups, leaving a lasting impact on those who had the privilege to know him.

Tom is preceded in death by his parents James and Geraldine (Williams) O’Dell. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years Sue O’Dell, daughters Denise O’Dell and Natalie Clugston, granddaughter Kylie Clugston, and brothers John O’Dell and Robert O’Dell (Jeanie); as well as several nieces & nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday July 12, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Bible Baptist Church 11150 Glenpark Road NE Bolivar, OH 44612 with Pastor Tom Shank and Pastor Doug Kilchenman officiating. The family will meet with guestsafter the service; all are invited to stay and join us for lunch at the church.

As we remember Tom, we celebrate a life well-lived, a man who embodied resilience, faith, and compassion. His legacy will continue through the lives he touched and the faith he shared. He will be sorely missed but fondly remembered by all who knew him.
