Tom Howe passed away on October 31, 2025, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He was surrounded by family. Tom was a dedicated Husband, Father, Brother and Uncle to many. He served the City of Chicago proudly and passionately as a Paramedic and Firefighter for 37 years, retiring as a Lieutenant from Engine 57. In addition, he spent 20 years helping to usher others on their final journey at Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home with a team who became part of his family. He loved the outdoors and especially being on the water in his boat with family and friends. He will be remembered for his love, dedication, and service to others and his joyous personality.

Tom was Husband to Octavia Kenley-Howe and Father to Daniel James Howe.

Stepfather to Micheal DeJesus (Ashley), Tenneal Kenley and Step-Grandfather to Wesley Beechum.

Tom was the son of Rita and Daniel Howe, d., and brother to Florence, d. (James, d.), Daniel, d. (Carol), Rita, d., Richard d. (Susan), John (Kate), William, d. (Susan), Edward, d. (Wendy), Margaret (Drew), Patrick (Pamela), and Theresa (Pat). Uncle to 27 nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews, and Godfather to nephews Jack and Jimmy, and niece Michael.

He will be dearly missed but will live on through us.

Visitation Wednesday, November 5th from 3-8pm at Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home, 6150 N. Cicero Ave., Chicago, IL 60646. Funeral service Thursday, November 6th chapel prayers at 9:15am processing to Queen of All Saints Basilica, 6280 N Sauganash Ave, Chicago, IL 60646, for a funeral mass at 10am. Interment private at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. Memorial donations in Tom’s name can be made to Project Purple – A World Without Pancreatic Cancer, 115 Main Street Suite 1, Seymour, CT 06483
