Karen Brown

Karen L. Brown, 72, of Parkersburg, WV died Saturday November 1, 2025 at Camden Clark Medical Center, WVU. She was born in Parkersburg, WV a daughter of the late Clarence W. and Lillian (Stewart) Merrill.

She loved being a teacher and worked for Wood County Board of Education for twenty-nine years. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Belpre, OH and enjoyed spending time with her family. 

She is survived by her husband of fifty-two years Arnold E. Brown; sons Ivan E. Brown and Mathais A. Brown (Jessica) all of Parkersburg; two grandchildren Olivia and Oaklynn Brown; and brother Earnest Merrill of South Carolina.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two infant children Lisa and Larry Brown, and brother David B. Bennett.

Visitation will be Wednesday 10AM to 12 PM at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg with a graveside service following at Sunset Memory Gardens with Pastor David Nutt officiating.
