Thomas Ganley

Thomas Joseph Ganley passed away at the Jersey City Medical Center on August 27, 2025. He was 78 years of age.

Born on August 13, 1947, in Newark, New Jersey, Thomas was the son of Bridie and Thomas Ganley. A lifelong resident of Jersey City, he was a graduate of Our Lady of Victories Elementary School and St. Michael’s High School. Thomas served his country proudly in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He worked for CSX Transportation for many years, retiring in 2016. Thomas will be remembered for his quick wit, love of horseracing, rooting for the Giants and Mets, and most of all, how much he loved his family.

Thomas shared his life with his wife, Linda (Malandrucolo) Ganley. He was a devoted father to his daughters, Jennifer Lefante and Erin Faulks, and a caring father-in-law to Jason Lefante and Steven Faulks. His role as grandfather brought him great joy; he cherished every moment spent with his grandson Dominick Lefante and granddaughter Nora Faulks.

He is remembered by his sister, Eileen Tanskey, whose bond with him remained strong throughout the years. Thomas also leaves behind his sister-in-law and brother-in-law Delores and Peter Caperino, his nieces Toni Albanese and Kristin Caperino, and nephew Richard Tanskey. Thomas was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Kevin Ganley.

Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday September 4, 2025, at Greenville Memorial Home 374 Danforth Avenue.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Thomas’ name to Wounded Warrior Project.
