Carson City, Nev. (May 28, 2025) — In the spirit of community, resilience and giving back, local businessman and philanthropist Ted Rupert, through the Wa She Shu Foundation, donated a car to Alaze Solis Ramirez, a dedicated high school student balancing work, school and family responsibilities.
A special unveiling event took place this morning at Carson High School, where Alaze met Mr. Rupert in person and caught her first glance at the 2004 Infiniti FX35 with all-wheel drive.

Rupert’s journey from homelessness to becoming a successful father, coach and entrepreneur has shaped his deep commitment to community.
Having coached youth baseball alongside local educators more than a decade ago, Rupert expressed to administrators at Carson High last year that he was ready to give back in a meaningful way.
That moment came when Carson High Vice Principal Joseph Billings recognized an opportunity to make a difference in a deserving student’s life.
According to Billings, Alaze is a hardworking student and employee who lives with her sister’s family, where they share one car among all members.
The lack of personal transportation was a daily challenge. During conversations, Alaze shared that if she could have one thing to ease her burden, it would be a car.
Unbeknownst to her, that conversation set things in motion.
Billings reached out to Rupert with her story. Shortly thereafter, Rupert, Billings, Alaze and Alaze’s School Councilor Bridget Gordon gathered for what would become a life-changing meeting.
Rupert listened, shared part of his personal journey and looked Alaze in the eye and said, “You are going to get this car. You deserve it. The car donation is more than just a vehicle—it’s a symbol of perseverance, support and hope.”
As the school year comes to a close, Alaze continues to excel in school and aspires to advocate for students like herself—those who push forward despite obstacles. Her message is clear: “Keep working, ask for help and don’t give up. You can do it.”
Rupert and the Wa She Shu Foundation are proud to support the dreams and determination of young people like Alaze, and this donation is just one of many ways they plan to uplift the community.
