Ted Repella
- August 5, 2025

Ted Repella passed away on August 3, 2025. Ted was born in Paterson, New Jersey, to Ted and Virginia Repella. His family moved to Phoenix, Arizona, when he was in elementary school. He graduated from Sunnyslope High School in 1966 and from Northern Arizona University with a degree in political science in 1970.
He enlisted in the Navy and served two years active duty, including shipboard service as a radarman in Vietnam, and four years in the Navy Reserves. He married Rae Jeanne Hansen in August 1970 and reported for duty the following month. They adopted their daughter, Amy, in 1976.
Ted lived 76 years as a son and devoted brother, a fabulous husband, a caring and great role model for his daughter, Amy, grandson Kyler, granddaughter Rickie, and Mia and Maddox, his great-grandchildren.
Ted brought joy and laughter to family and friends. He loved all sports. He played basketball and baseball as a child and played basketball for one year in college. Ted coached Kyler and played basketball with anyone who would play with him. He followed the New York Yankees and cherished a photo of Mickey Mantle and Joe DiMaggio that was framed and hanging in his bathroom.
Ted had an incredible work ethic. From the age of 12, he saved up money to buy a lawnmower and made money mowing lawns for neighbors. He was a skilled salesperson and put that talent to work throughout his life. Rae Jeanne recalls that when they were first dating, Ted had already saved up enough money to buy a car.
That same work ethic served Ted well when he worked at Naumann Hobbs Material Handling for 46 years, selling heavy machinery. Ted received many awards as a top-performing salesperson. He enjoyed the competition of selling and the comradery with his fellow employees.
He enjoyed a cold Coors, chocolate of any kind, peanut M&Ms, and fun times with family and friends.
He will be remembered by those who loved him for the battles fought this last year, but also for the legacy he leaves behind.
Ted is survived by his wife, grandson, granddaughter, great grandchildren, and his sister, Claire Clements (Duane). He was preceded in death by his daughter, Amy.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hope Women’s Center.
