Heaven has a new angel as Tammy Janell Phillips, 53, of Waco, passed away Monday October 27, 2025, at home with her mother and step farther by her side.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday November 4, 2025, from 5 PM until 8 PM, with a Rosary at 6 PM, at Lake Shore Funeral Home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday November 5, 2025, at 10 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with interment immediately following at Oakwood Cemetery.
Tammy was born in Waco to Dora (Flores) Lauritzen and Lenon Philips, where she graduated from University High School. Tammy was a counselor at the Waco Center for Youth where she loved working with the children helping them with arts and crafts. She loved being a mother to her two sons Donye and Prince enjoying watching wrestling with them. Her favorite wrestler was Roman Reigns. She was the first and only granddaughter and niece babysitting all her boy cousins as they all grew up. She taught them many things about growing up including introducing them to MTV and music of all kinds.
She was preceded in death by her father Lenon Phillips, Grandparents Emmitt Sr. and Rita Flores, Felix Sr. and Cordella Phillips.
She is survived by her Mother Dora (Flores) Lauritzen and Karl Lauritzen Jr (husband), and her children, Donye Reece Flores and Prince Alexander Bernal, as well as numerous uncles, aunts, cousins and extended family. We would like to thank the wonderful people at Gentiva Hospice and Texas Oncology for their care of Tammy.
Pallbearers will be Stevie Flores, Rickey Flores Jr., Sean Armon, Donye Reece Flores, Prince Alexander Bernal and Anthony Martinez.
