“Sue”

Sue, of Waukesha, passed away on June 21, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.

Born on November 1, 1947, in Waukesha, Sue was a devoted wife, a loving mother, a joyful “Mimi,” and a wonderful friend whose presence brought laughter, warmth, and comfort to all who knew her.

She shared a beautiful life with her husband, Daryel Lein Sr., and was endlessly proud to be the mother of Daryel (Nickie) Lein Jr., Craig Lein, Michele St. Louis, and Jennifer (Kevin) Hoeth.

Sue was known by many as “Mimi,” a title lovingly given to her by her first grandchild—a title she wore with great pride. She was the heart of her family and was deeply devoted to her grandchildren: Courtney (Aleks) Lein, Madelyn, Jacob, and Lucas Hoeth, Boe Behnke, and Marquez Gonzalez. She is also survived by her mother, Catherine Nehs, and her 4 sisters, Bonnie Zangerle, Luanne Parks, Kathy (John) Thomas, Mary (Mitch) Raines, and by many other cherished family members and friends.

For nearly 20 years, Sue worked at Albanese’s Roadhouse as a beloved waitress and stand-in bartender. A true social butterfly, she had a gift for connecting with people and a heart that was always open. Whether offering a shoulder to cry on or simply striking up conversation in the grocery store, Sue made everyone feel seen and heard. Her magnetic, trustworthy presence made her a friend to many and a bright light in every room.

Sue will be missed beyond measure, but the love she gave so freely will live on in all of us
