Susan Stelter
Susan Carol Stelter, 62, passed away on June 19, 2025, in Tulsa, OK. She was born on August 23, 1962, in Chicago, Illinois to Harold and Arlene Stelter.
Susan was raised in Chicago, IL where she attended Harold L. Richards High School. She was a member of the yearbook committee, she started her interests in crocheting in home economics, and even loved being in woodshop class.
After she graduated, she started working at the local florist shop, Saunoris Florist and Sons, where she worked alongside her mother and became the shops floral arrangement expert. Susan attended Joliet Junior College while working in the flower shop and received her associate’s degree in Floriculture Management.
Susan followed her high school sweetheart Daniel O’Laughlin and moved to Phoenix Arizona where they later married. She got a job as a florist at Loves Florist shop working with the owner Bobbi Alan. Flowers brought mom great joy and she made the most beautiful arrangements. Susan was funny and had a free spirit and accepted anyone and everyone. She loved music especially attending concerts and live music events. Before her passing she was even able to fulfill her childhood dream of seeing Donnie Osmand in concert. Her greatest joy and accomplishment in life were her three children, Kevin, Kate, and Todd. She was the type of mother who never let her kids go without and celebrated every holiday even the silly ones. She was a grandmother to seven grandchildren, Aiden, Allison, Sofia, Nathan, Erin, Averie, and Jacksen. She never missed a birthday or holiday and always made sure to celebrate each of them. She was a believer in making memories and celebrating the events in life that truly mattered. Susan loved all animals especially dogs, including her current fur baby Ari. Susan never met a stranger because she would make friends with everyone she met. She loved to volunteer for all events ranging from marathons, sports events, and community outreach programs. She loved people and loved being around people. Her smile and laugh lit up the room and will be greatly missed.
Susan is survived by her 3 children and their spouses, and 7 grandchildren, Kevin (Brandi) O’Laughlin -Aiden, Averie and Jacksen, Kate (Paul) Pearcy-Allison and Erin, Todd (Erika) O’Laughin-Sophia and Nathan. Her siblings: Karen Bonds, Bob (Alice) Stelter. Nieces and nephews: Bob Stelter, Eric, Stelter, Holly Lucas, Ashley Bonds. She is preceded in Death by her parents Harold and Arlene Stelter, her brother Jim Stelter and her nephew Justin Bonds.
Memorial services will be held on Thursday, July 3, 2025 @ 12pm, located at Hanson Desert Hills Mortuary & Cemetery 6500 E. Bell Rd. Scottsdale, AZ 85254
