Lincoln-Susan M. Ryan, 74, passed peacefully at MetroWest Medical Center on Tuesday, May 13, 2025. She is survived by three daughters, Sarah J. Ryan of Hudson, Mary A. Ryan of Maynard, and Kimberly E. Needham of Plymouth. Two granddaughters, Cassandra Kurbs, and Kylee McGuane; and two great-grandsons, Jaeden Fernandes and Jovanni Ortiz; several nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends. She is pre-deceased by her siblings, Kathleen Ryan and Danny Ryan.
Daughter of the late James and Helen (Buckley) Ryan, Susan was raised and educated in Lincoln, graduated from Lincoln-Sudbury High School, Class of 1969, and continued studies at UMass-Amherst. In addition to successfully owning and operating her own cleaning company, Susan worked part-time as a waitress at the Colonial Inn, and as a clerk for the Paper Store for many years. Happiness was at the core of Susan’s being, she always exuded radiance and sunshine and greeted everyone with a smile. Close friends and family called her ‘Susie Sunshine’. She took great pride in her appearance and enjoyed colorful fashion and accessories to match her personality. Susan’s home was a safe place where the door was always open, all were welcome, Red Sox games often on the TV, arts and crafts projects often on the table, and friendly animals always greeting guests at the door. She was always there to brighten someone’s day, crack a joke, or give a tight hug. Susan loved the sun and cherished many summer days at Cape Ann and Wingaersheek Beach in Gloucester. She was happiest in the company of family and will be forever missed and remembered as a loving, devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.
A calling hour will be held from 5 until 6PM with a celebration of life to follow at 6PM on Tuesday, May 27, 2025 in the Philbin-Comeau Funeral Home, 176 Water St., Clinton. Online condolences may be placed at www.philbincomeaufh.com
