Stephen Schaecher

Stephen “Steve” Joseph Schaecher, 65, was born in Lincoln, Nebraska on January 5, 1960. He moved to Colorado with his parents in 1961 and grew up in Littleton.  Steve graduated from Littleton High School in 1977 where he played soccer and basketball and then graduated from Metro State College with a degree in Business Management. Steve loved the mountains and lived in places including Crested Butte, Gunnison, and Salida. Steve was passionate about camping, fishing, hiking and skiing. He had an interest in collecting coins, loved outdoor photography, and was an avid painter. One of Steve’s favorite places to spend time was Chatfield State Park.

Steve is survived by his parents, John “Jack” and Marie; brothers Tom and wife Deana, Larry and John; nephews Cameron and Nicholas; and nieces Caroline and Annika. He was proceeded in death by sister-in-law Christine.

Funeral services at St. Mary Catholic Church, 6853 South Prince Street, Littleton, Colorado on Friday May 16 at 11:00am, preceded by Rosary at 10:30am, with reception following at the church. Interment will be a private family ceremony at Littleton Cemetery.
