Obituary for: Stan M. Emerson

Mr. Stan M. Emerson (Chief Petty Officer), age 83, a resident of New Braunfels, Texas, died Thursday, July 31, 2025, at his home.
Stan was born on April 16, 1942, to John R. and Bessie Wilson Emerson in Lockesburg, AR, the tenth of ten children. Stan graduated from Horatio High School and followed his three older brothers in service in the U.S. Navy. He graduated from the University of Arkansas with a degree in Civil Engineering. He was a Registered Professional Engineer in Arkansas, Texas, and Florida, and City Engineer for Pinellas Park, Florida. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1960-1968 and retired reserve Seabeeās in December of 1984. He was a Baptist, loved the Lord, his family especially, his great-granddaughters, and enjoyed going to the Emerson family reunions.
He is preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Woodrow Emerson, Archie Emerson, Charles Emerson, and Sonny Emerson; two sisters, Frances Yates and Bessie Torgerson.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Karen Doyle Emerson; two sons, Billy Joe Emerson of Palm Harbor, Florida and Stanley Emerson (Sarah) of New Braunfels, Texas; four grandchildren, Allison Emerson Coffing (Jacob) of Jarrell, Texas, Rachel Emerson Underwood (Garrett) of New Braunfels, Texas, Andrew Emerson of Pearl Harbor, Hawaii and Aaron Emerson of Great Lakes, Illinois; two great-grandchildren, Emerson Coffing and Daisy Coffing; one brother, John Emerson of Oregon; two sisters, Delia Goins of Texarkana, Texas and Lynda Monroe of Horatio, Arkansas and a number of nieces and nephews.
