By Evangeline Elston — Join the Silver City Preservation Society for its 5th Annual Pi Day Pie Auction happening Friday, March 14 at 5:30 p.m at the historic Silver City Schoolhouse, 385 High Street, Silver City.
Since 2020 the Silver City Preservation Society has hosted a Pi Day Pie Auction on March 14, Pi Day (the ratio of the circumference of any circle to the diameter of that circle is approximately 3.14).
This popular annual event boast dozens of beautiful and delicious sweet and savory pies, tarts, quiches and more, lovingly baked by the Comstock’s best home bakers! And if you know, you know that there are some truly amazing bakers on the Comstock!
This is a live auction and a lot of fun! Bidders gather at the historic Silver City Schoolhouse to view the pies and decide what they will bid on. There is beer and wine available for a donation. When the auction begins, things move fast and the whole event is usually done and dusted in two hours.
The auction is a benefit for the Silver City Preservation Society, a 501 c3 nonprofit that manages the Silver City Schoolhouse, conducts community development and planning work, hosts a volunteer library, and produces a variety of cultural, educational and arts events in Silver City, Nev.
Bid high and often! We look forward to seeing you there! For questions or to sign up to donate a pie, please contact silvercityschoolhousenv@gmail.com.
