Sally Joann Peterson was born on November 2, 1932 and peacefully passed away in her home on May 12,

2025. She was born in Rock Island, Illinois to parents George Edgar Wertz and Elsie Hancock Wertz.

She is survived by her husband of 75 years, Jerome (Jerry) Peterson, Son Rand Peterson and wife Debbie,

Son Scott Peterson and wife Carol, Daughter Jeryl Anne Heatherdale and husband Sam.

Grandchildren Trisha Peterson, Chad Peterson, Jay Peterson and wife Annie, Kim Gudenkauf and

husband Rob. Great grandchildren Aubree Peterson, Kylee Peterson, Connor McSharry, Brooklyn

McSharry, Vanna Peterson and Farrah Peterson.

As a young girl Sally sang country western music on the local radio station. As she got older she

transitioned to Big Band Music. Sally was an avid golfer who boasted a hole in one. She was an

international award winning wood carver. Sally was a wonderful cook who enjoyed entertaining family

and friends and was the consummate hostess. Sally and her husband Jerry were founding members of

Hope Lutheran Church in Satsuma Florida where her crafting skills and chili dogs were a community

favorite at the annual craft and bake sale. Towards the end of her life she enjoyed playing cards with “the

girls” and visiting friends and family. Her 92 years was filled with community outreach and service

leaving a legacy held by few others. She was loved by many and we will miss her infectious smile and sense of humor and the way she loved us all. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 17th at 3pm followed by a dinner in the Fellowship

Hall at Hope Lutheran Church, 273 C.R. 309, Satsuma Florida, 32189. In lieu of flowers, donations may

be made to Hope Lutheran Church at the above address.
