Sally-Dee Stanton

Sally-Dee (Craig) Stanton passed away peacefully in her home, on August 21, 2025, after a long and hard-fought battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her loving family.

Sally-Dee was born at Salem Hospital on March 5, 1950 to Jeanne (Murray) Craig. She grew up in Swampscott and graduated from Swampscott High School. In 1968 she met her best friend William R. Stanton, whom she would marry several years later. Just this year, they actually celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary!

Sally-Dee enjoyed her career in medical administration, leaving her mark on many patients and their families.

Throughout her life, she loved her pets, her gardens, and was an avid reader. She was most proud of being a strong wife, mother, and a loyal friend. She loved dressing up “to the nines”, socializing with her friends, really good food and traveling with her husband to Bermuda. She was so very generous, she was a stubborn and sassy Pisces, and she adored Christmas. She did it up like no other!

Sally-Dee had two children. Her beloved son Bobby Peck of Marblehead, who sadly predeceased her, and her beloved daughter Katie-Jeanne Stanton.

She is survived by: Her husband William R. Stanton of Ipswich; her daughter Katie-Jeanne Stanton and her husband Marc Laurendeau of Reading, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Some friends she has had since grade school!

The last words from her loving husband William R Stanton, “You will always be my baby.”

A Celebration of Life party will be planned for early December. Contributions may be made in Sally-Dee’s memory to the American Diabetes Association at www.diabetes.org . Arrangements by Campbell Funeral Home, 6 High St., Ipswich, MA. Information, directions, condolences at www.campbellfuneral.com.
