Rose Wyrostek

Rose Agnes Wyrostek (Kosek) passed away peacefully in her home on July 16, 2025. She was born on July 21, 1930 in Rib Lake Wisconsin, the youngest of nine children. She loved that she grew up on a farm with plenty of animals to love, especially cats and had plenty of stories to tell.

Rose was an active member of St. Symphorosa Church, involved in the Altar Rosary Society, Super Club, the Resurrection Choir and really enjoyed serving as wedding coordinator.

She loved watching birds, rabbits, squirrels, and possums in her yard and tend to her garden as long as she could.

She moved to Chicago and married Stanley Wyrostek September 1, 1951. Rose was preceded in death by her husband and her siblings.

She is survived by her five children: Steve (Rita) Wyrostek, Nancy (Craig) Fonzen, Michael (late Bernadette) (Steve Travers), Michele (Pat) Flanagan, John (Molly) Wyrostek. Grandchildren: Amber (Jonathan) Petrovich, Phil (Cortney), Luke, Arwen (Levi) Wall, Mark (Briana) Fonzen, Christian, Kevin, Julie (Cameron), Shannon (Gabe) Caldwell, Gina (Phil) Smunt, Diana (Jason) Blankenship, Kaylee, Eric (Megan) Wyrostek, and great-grandchildren Grace, Tre, Evy, JJ, Jessica, Brandon, Royce, Charleigh, Matteo, Emerald, River, Jade, Everest, and Echo.

Rose was dearly loved and taught us the importance of family and to love each other. We are so thankful she was part of our lives for so long. She will be greatly missed.
