Rose Mary Haines, affectionately known as Rosie, was called to her eternal rest and welcomed into heaven on September 6, 2025, in the comfort of her own home, surrounded by her loving family. Rosie passed peacefully, leaving a mark of love, laughter, and faith that touched everyone who knew her. She had an amazing way of finding happiness in even the smallest moments with a quick joke, a playful smile, or a laugh that could light up a room. She was beautiful in every sense of the word, with warmth and generosity that touched everyone around her. Her family finds comfort in knowing she is now reunited with her Lord and Savior, and her spirit will forever live on in their hearts.

Rosie was born on August 18, 1938, in Gays Mills, Wisconsin, to Charles and Marguerite (Nee Paulson) Haines. Rosie was a beacon of strength and love, whose life was characterized by her unwavering dedication to her family, her faith, and her friends.

Throughout her life, Rosie was a hardworking woman, taking on numerous jobs to provide for her family. She also proudly served as a Marine, a role that spoke to her strength, discipline, and dedication. Her industrious nature was evident not only in her work life but also in her passion for crafts. Whether she was knitting a baby blanket for a new family member, crocheting a wedding gift, or preparing an entry for the state fair, Rosie’s hands were never idle. She thrived on creativity, commonly finding inspiration on Pinterest which allowed her to jump into the next project that captured her heart, often before she had even finished the one she was already working on.

Rosie’s vibrant personality brought joy to everyone she encountered. She had a remarkable talent for forging friendships and was known for her compassionate spirit and eagerness to lend a helping hand. Her kind heart and open mind allowed her to see the good in everyone; a trait that endeared her to all who knew her.

Rosie’s legacy lives on through her family. She was preceded in death by her loving parents and siblings Roderick (Shirley) Haines, Harry (Nancy) Haines, Gregory Haines, Bernice Wiser, Joan (Paul) Rice, Colleen (Will) Sorcic, and sister-in-law Grace Ver Vooren. She leaves behind a loving family including her son Donny Athas, daughters Kimberly Ver Vooren and her partner Ken Rogers, Cyndy Spear and her husband Brad, daughter-in-law Jill (Nee Bacskai) Athas, her cherished grandchildren Alyssa Athas, Andrew Athas, Joseph Parsons, and Jenna Parsons, and brother James (Linda) Haines. In addition, she is remembered fondly by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, great-great-nephews, and treasured friends.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate Rosie’s life on Saturday, October 4th, 2025, at CHURCH AND CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME, 308 Bluemound Rd. Waukesha, WI.. Visitation will be held from 12:00 PM to 2:30 PM, followed by a service at 2:30 PM, with military honors to take place thereafter.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the American Heart Association, a cause close to Rosie’s heart. The family would like to express their deep gratitude to the ProHealth Hospice team, especially her nurse Kelly and aide Penny, for their kindness, compassion, and the comfort they provided Rosie, which gave the gift of more time with her over these past few months.

Her loving spirit and generous heart will be missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.
