Rodney Sederholm

Rodney A. Sederholm, age 80, of Highbridge, WI, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, June 15, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. Rodney was born on August 29, 1944, in Ashland, WI, to Henry and Amy (Lindquist) Sederholm.

On October 9, 1965, he married his best friend and the love of his life, Sydney Same, at Saron Lutheran Church. Together, they built a beautiful life rooted in love, laughter, and devotion to their family. They had countless cherished memories over the course of nearly 60 years. Rodney worked for many years as a lineman. He was a true history buff and could spend hours reading, learning, and sharing stories. He enjoyed the outdoors and had a love of farming. He loved a good book, quiet moments at home, and meaningful conversations with those close to him. Above all, Rodney was a family man. He was a proud and loving husband, dad, grandpa, great-grandpa, brother and uncle. His steady presence, gentle nature, and sense of humor will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 60 years, Sydney; his children, Tammie (Chris) Bretting, Dawn (Daryn) Sederholm, Shawn (Lesley) Sederholm, and Nicole Sederholm; grandchildren, Breanne (Tim) Burke, Branden (Melissa) Large, Josie Bretting, and Bella (Cody) Bretting; and great-granddaughter, Harper Large. He is also survived by his sisters, Bonnie Sederholm and Colleen Tushaus; sisters-in-laws, Marlene Sederholm and Kathy Sederholm and many nieces and nephews.

Rodney was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Amy, and his brothers, Dennis and Daryll.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at Saron Lutheran Church. A gathering for family and friends will begin at 9:30 AM until the time of service. Interment will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Highbridge at a later date.
