Robert David Webster, 90, of Jefferson City, Missouri, Passed away surrounded by loved ones on Monday, October 27, 2025.
He was born on July 1, 1935 in Minonk, Illinois and was the son of the late Robert Wesley and Alice Edna (Simpson) Webster.
David was a graduate of Minonk-Dana-Ruttland High School and was apart of the 1953 graduation class, afterwords being drafted into the Army Reserves where he served dutifully until his Honorable discharge, where after he continued his education and gained a degree in Engineering, and took his talents to the Highway Department as computer programmer.
David developed a deep curiosity for how things worked at an early age — a passion that would guide him throughout his life. He was best known for his love of model railroads and trains, a hobby that combined his creativity, precision, and appreciation for history. David could spend hours designing intricate layouts and sharing his knowledge with anyone who showed interest in locomotives or model building.
His adventurous spirit also led him underground through his passion for spelunking, he enjoyed the quiet beauty of natural caverns, David found peace and wonder in the world beneath the surface.
Equally at home with a keyboard as he was with a train set, David was an early and enthusiastic adopter of computers and technology. He loved learning about new developments in the digital world and often helped friends and family troubleshoot their devices, sharing his patience and curiosity in the process.
David will be remembered for his gentle humor, generous spirit, and his ability to find fascination and joy in the details of life.
David is survived by his Daughters; Debbie Weatherly, Connie Webster, Wendy Webster, Son; Robert Webster, Grandchildren; Monica Weatherly, Russ Weatherly, Justin, Douglas and Serentiy and Great-Grandchildren; Rusty Moe, Bella, Rilee, Gabe, Mickey, Jaxon
Visitation will be held at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors on Saturday, November 1, 2025 from 12:00pm to 2:00pm with a graveside service to follow at 2:00pm at Riverview Cemetery
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to any organization in Roberts Memory.
