Robert Plude

Robert W. Plude, age 89, of Shelton, beloved husband of the late Beverly (Waldo) Plude, passed away Saturday, June 14, 2025 in his home surrounded by his family. Robert was born May 18, 1936 in Bridgeport, son of the late William and Alice (Bixby) Plude.

Robert worked as a prototype metalsmith at Sikorsky Aircraft before retiring from Abco Manufacturing. He was a member of the Onondaga Indian Tribe of New York, and was proud to have been a 20-year active volunteer with the Pine Rock Volunteer Fire Department #4. Robert enjoyed NASCAR racing and traveling with his wife Beverly until her passing in 2014. Since then, he preferred living a quiet life.

Survivors include his children Dawn Mero, Brian Jennings, Allen Jennings Jr., Doreen Cornell, Steve M. Plude and Dawn Marie Ortiz; eighteen grandchildren and many great grandchildren.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by 17 brothers and sisters.

At the request of the family, all services were private and entrusted to the William R. McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main St., Stratford, CT.
