Rita Louise Gallimore, born on November 15, 1935, in Miami, Florida, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2025, at the age of 89 in Ormond By The Sea, Florida. A devoted Christian, Rita’s life was a testament to her faith and commitment to her community.
Rita married James Gallimore on April 6, 1957, and together they shared 57 cherished years until his passing. She was predeceased by her beloved son, Jimmy Gallimore, and is survived by her son, Terry Gallimore, and daughter, Kim Price.
Throughout her life, Rita was actively involved in her community, leading the charismatic group at the Prince of Peace Catholic Church and volunteering to deliver communion to housebound church members. Her passion for crafts was evident in her exquisite Intarsia woodwork and the charming chenille stuffed bears and clowns she lovingly created. Rita was also a cherished member of the Red Hat Society, and she found joy in playing Mexican Train Dominoes with her close friends. Her church family was a cornerstone of her life, and she was deeply committed to nurturing those relationships.
A Catholic Mass in celebration of Rita’s life will be held on Saturday, June 21, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Brendan’s Catholic Church. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Rita’s devoted friends who faithfully supported her by providing transportation to dialysis appointments over the past three years.
Rita’s warmth, creativity, and unwavering faith have left an indelible mark on those who knew her, and she will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and community.
