Ricky Orr

Ricky Orr, age 70, of Atlanta, Texas, passed away on September 24, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. He was born May 24, 1955, in Mesquite, Texas to Cliant and Dorothy Orr. A devoted grandfather, hardworking entrepreneur, and master storyteller, he lived a life full of purpose, passion, and pride.

Ricky grew up with a strong work ethic and a deep love for family that would guide him through every chapter of life. He made his mark in the oil and gas production industry, building and running several successful companies with grit, determination, and integrity. He believed in getting his hands dirty, earning every bit of success through honest labor and a relentless drive.

But beyond his accomplishments, Ricky will be remembered most for how he lived — with joy, generosity, and a twinkle in his baby blue eyes. He had a special bond with his children and grandchildren, who were the light of his life. Whether it was cheering them on at countless ball games, sitting around the kitchen table playing a game or watching their favorite movies, his love for them was steady and strong. In his eyes, his children and grandchildren were always the best on the field or court — and in life.

A lover of old engines and tales, he could bring both back to life with remarkable ease. His shop was filled with the smell of grease, memorabilia of the power tours he enjoyed with his brother, Gary, and the sound of country music. Friends and family were always welcome — especially if they came with time for a good chat over coffee.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Ricky is survived by his wife, Elaine Hale Orr; son, Dustin Orr and wife Ashley, daughters, Jaime Clark and husband Heath, Mandi Stringer and husband Michael, Kirbi Huddleston and husband Dakota; brothers, Gary Orr and wife Linda, Eddie Orr and wife Jerrie; sister, Donna Stevenson and husband Chuck; his beloved grandchildren, Maci Stringer, Jacie Lance, Madison Orr, Justin Lance, Mallori Stringer, Cass Clark, Jolie Clark, Londyn Huddleston, Allie Berry, Bostyn Huddleston, Juliet Orr, Huck Huddleston, Oliver Orr; a number of nieces, nephews and a host of other family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you take a moment to cheer a little louder at your loved one’s next ball game, lend a hand to someone who needs it, or simply sit down with a friend and share a good story and cup of coffee — just as he would have done.

He was one of a kind. He will be deeply missed.
