Richard L. “Dick” Marcotte, 83, of Grant Park, Illinois, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on Sunday, August 3, 2025, at home. He was born on November 6, 1941, at the family home in Ganeer Township, Momence, Illinois, in the same home his father was born. He was the son of Alexis and Ruth Forburger Marcotte. He married Bonnie Debouck on October 26, 1963, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Momence.
Richard is survived by his wife, Bonnie Marcotte; four children, Debbie Marcotte, of Momence, Monica (Bob) Clark, of Grant Park, Mark (Nancy) Marcotte, of Grant Park, and Mike (Kelly Brehm) Marcotte, of Momence; grandchildren, A.J. Cousin, Richard (Jessica) Clark, Hannah (fiancé Ryan Murphy) Clark, Dylan, Kennedy, Nixon Marcotte, Alexa (Austin) Latty, Chance (Erin) Marcotte, Kamden and Tate Marcotte; and great-grandchildren, Mackenzie Cousin, Memphis Clark, Everett, Isaha, and Ozzie Latty, and Drew Marcotte. Other survivors include one brother Dan (Virginia) Marcotte, of Valparaiso, Indiana, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; infant twin brothers, Albert and Donald; and his in-laws, Nick and Yvonne Debouck.
Dick was a long-time farmer in the Momence and Grant Park area. He may have farmed with John Deere equipment but he was an avid International Harvester collector.
He served nine years as a National Director of the International Harvester Collector Club, and thirty-one years with the IH Chapter 10 of central Illinois as a director and as vice president. He was a member in the Central Illinois Green Club, Olde Time Tractor Club, Chairman of Half Century of Progress Tractor Ride, Kankakee County Farm Bureau, Kankakee Council Number 745 of the Knights of Columbus, and St. Patrick Catholic Church Cemetery board in Momence.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Memorials may be made to St. Patrick Cemetery Association in Momence or to the donor’s choice, in lieu of flowers.
