Richard Lee Pearl ~ In Our Care ~ January 8, 2025

Richard Lee Pearl…

A much-loved husband, father, papa, son and brother, Richard Lee Pearl, 68, of Clarksdale, Mo., passed away at his home on January 8, 2025, a remembrance date he now shares with his son, Alex Travis Pearl. They’ll be buried next to each other.

Richie, or Mouse, as his friends called him, was born on Aug. 2, 1956, in Maysville, Mo., to Max and Betty Pearl. Spending his early years in Fairport, Mo., he grew up playing basketball, football and fast-pitch softball and loved hunting and fishing. He graduated from Maysville High School in 1974, then married the love of his life, Rose Ann Reardon, on Nov. 8, 1980. They lived on the outskirts of Maysville, where they raised their three children, Brooke, Lacy and Alex, who kept them busy with school activities and sports. Richie loved every minute of it, never missing an event or game. His family was his world.

As a young adult, Richard started working for his dad, Max, at the feed store in Fairport and continued his lifelong career in agricultural sales. His current job was with NEWSTAR, a company specializing in manufacturing, warehousing and distribution of vital ingredients for feed manufacturers in Omaha, Nebraska. It was the best career move he ever made. Richie planned to retire at the end of this year.

In 2006, Richard and Rose Ann built their dream home on 12 acres in Clarksdale, where they devoted much time to gardening, walking and meticulous yard maintenance (that’s all Richie!), and cherished peaceful mornings drinking coffee together in their screened-in porch. They hosted hayrides and bonfires and spent precious family time watching movies, playing games, vacationing, 4-wheeling and going on wagon rides. Richie also treated his three cats like family.

The rest of his time was spent playing cards, golfing weekly (if not daily) with a handful of special golf buddies and traveling to Arrowhead Stadium to cheer on his beloved (and sometimes aggravating) Kansas City Chiefs. He also ran all over to watch his three granddaughters, Brinley, Maddie and Hannah, play volleyball, basketball and soccer and run in cross-country meets. Those three had Papa wrapped around their fingers.

He lived a life and left a legacy of unconditional love, charity and purpose — one many of us aspire to emulate.

Richard is survived by his wife, Rose Ann, of 44 years; daughter Brooke McGrath (Kevin) of Kansas City, Mo.; Lacy Pearl of Savannah, Mo.; granddaughters Brinley, Madeline and Hannah; sister Sandy Clark (Bobby) of Maysville, Mo.; brother Ronnie Pearl of Maysville, Mo.; brother-in-law Jim Hahn (Nancy) of Maysville, Mo.; and a host of additional beloved family members and forever friends. He is preceded in death by his son Alex; sister Nancy Hahn; parents; mother- and father-in-law Joe and Peggy Reardon; nephew Andy Clark; and sister-in-law Jody Pearl.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation at Turner Family Funeral Home in Maysville on Monday, Jan. 13, from 5-8 p.m.If you’d like, please wear Chiefs attire to the visitation to represent Richie’s favorite sports team. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 14, at 9:30 a.m., also at Turner Family Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Maysville. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Living Hope Food Pantry and Thrift Store or the Maysville Athletic Booster.
