Rey Marbello

Rey Vincent Marbello, 55, died on June 18, 2025 after battling a long illness. He was born in Manila Philippines on September 13, 1969. He was the son of Segundita and Reynaldo Marbello.

Rey met his wife Kimberly while she was a student at the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation Hospital in Pine Ridge, SD. They continued their courtship with him driving from Pine Ridge to Denver, Colorado every other weekend with numerous souvenir shopping sprees at REl which was a bonus. They were married on July 22, 2000 at Grace United Methodist Church in Denver, Colorado.

Rey attended various schools in San Diego where he was involved in numerous activities such as scouting, wrestling, and the Academic League. As a child Rey enjoyed reading comic books, watching cartoons and anime, and going to Imperial Beach. Anxious to leave sunny California Rey headed to Omaha, Nebraska to attend Creighton University and major in Biology and subsequently complete a Doctor of Pharmacy degree. While at Creighton Rey participated in crew as well as fencing. It was here where Rey developed some of his closest and dearest friendships.

Rey was active duty in the Commissioned Corps of the US Public Health Services for nearly 30 years and eventually reached the rank of an 0-6 captain. As a Commissioned Corp pharmacist, he served 5 years at Pine Ridge, SD and nearly 25 years at the White Mountain Indian Hospital in White River, AZ. He will be remembered for his love of the outdoors and travel, spending time hunting, camping and scuba diving. He also enjoyed going on trips with his wife and sons such as Key West, Vancouver, Springerville, and South Carolina to name a few. He was a book lover especially anything written by Dean Koontz, Tom Clancy, Clive Cussler, as well as various magazines that kept him entertained. He liked watching old westerns like his father and enjoyed watching other shows like Top Gear, Dual Survival, Forged in Fire, etc. which showed in his litany of random facts and historical knowledge. He also loved to spend time and be involved with his two sons and their various endeavors from Boy Scouts, sports, and church.

He is survived by his wife, Kimberly Marbello (Paradise Valley) and sons, Quentin (Tucson) and Ethan (Dallas) and the infamous Orion our Boston Terrier (Dallas). He is also survived by his parents, Reynaldo and Sequndita Marbello (San Diego) and sisters, Carmela (Rodney) of San Diego, California and May (Daniel) of Bakersfield, California. In addition to his immediate family Rey is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousin and in-laws
