Rev.  Kenneth McClerren

Rev. Kenneth L. McClerren, 88, of Thompsonville, died at home surrounded by his family.

He was born December 26, 1936 to Herbert and Mary Ethel (Jones ) McClerren near Thompsonville.

He married Mildred Marie Browning on March 7, 1955. They celebrated 70 years of marriage together and she survives. Other survivors include 3 children and spouses, Darrel and Cindy McClerren of Coello, Danny and Janet McClerren of West Frankfort and Debbie and Jeff Paris of Thompsonville. Also 11 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and 26 great great grandchildren and adopted friends who are considered family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 8 siblings and 2 great great grandchildren.

Kenneth had many professions throughout his life including doing construction work for roads, mines and new homes. He farmed and was an avid gardner. He loved doing woodworking projects, but his most endearing job was being a servant of the Lord for 57 years.

He was a member of the Harmony Freewill Baptist Church in West Frankfort where he served as Deacon for several years.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the Hospice care team for their compassion and support during Kenneth’s final days.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. at the Parker-Reedy Funeral Home in West Frankfort with Rev. Curtis Smith and Rev. Ivan Ryan officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the McCann Cemetery near Thompsonville.
