Rebecca “Becky” Good
Rebecca Jean (Becky) Good, 77, of Urbandale, IA, slipped away into the arms of Jesus, Saturday, August 30, 2025, at Kennybrook Village in Grimes, IA, surrounded by family and close friends. Becky suffered a stroke in early August.
Becky was born February 29, 1948, at the Eleanor Moore Hospital in Boone, IA, to Maurice W. and Rachel Jean (Hanson) Good. She graduated from Boone High School in 1966, and DMACC in 1968 with a degree in computer science. Becky had several interesting employments, starting with Pioneer, retail management at Sears, Kragie/Newell Advertising, School Associate at Urbandale High School, Valley Southwoods, and HR at Cardinal Health, retiring in 2009.
In her spare time, Becky enjoyed traveling around the world with her friends, and most recently with Thrive Ministries, volunteering with Hope Ministries, serving at Westchester EFC, entertaining and keeping in touch with family and friends, and playing Bunco and Canasta with friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, paternal and maternal grandparents, uncle and aunt-in-law, and family friend Jim Glenn.
She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Rita and James Douglass of Iowa City; a nephew and wife, Christopher and Jennifer Douglass; and great-nephew, Connor Douglass of Hinsdale, IL; cousins, David and Cathy Good, Linda and Steve Michel, Laurie and Jim Newbold and their families; longtime friends, Diane Glenn and Linda Crow. Becky was a “special aunt” to the Glenn kids (Annie, Jimi, and Katie). Becky is leaving behind many dear friends and classmates from the BHS class of ’66.

Wherever Becky called home, she proclaimed her faith and love for Jesus Christ and all that he had done for her throughout the years. Now she is Finally Home.
Memorial services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at the Westchester Evangelical Free Church, 4919 Aurora Avenue, Des Moines, IA 50310. Visitation with the family present to greet friends will be before the service from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the church. Private family interment will be at Linwood Park Cemetery in Boone at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to the family and will be used according to Becky’s wishes.
