Randy Ables

It is with deep love and gentle sorrow that we announce the passing of Randy Ables, a fun-loving, big-hearted man whose laughter filled every room he entered. He was born in Granbury on July 7, 1948, and graduated from Granbury High School in 1966. He left us on Sunday, December 7, 2025.

Randy lived his life with joy, curiosity, and a spirit that lifted those around him. He had a gift for finding humor in the ordinary and turning everyday moments into stories worth retelling. Whether he was sharing a joke, offering a helping hand, or simply sitting with someone who needed company, he made people feel at ease and cared for.

Above everything, Randy loved his family deeply. His greatest happiness came from being a brother, uncle, and friend. His family was his world, and he made sure they always knew it.

He leaves behind a legacy of kindness and laughter. Those who were fortunate enough to know him will remember his warm smile, his playful spirit, and the way he made life feel a little brighter just by being in it.

We will miss him more than words can express, but we take comfort in knowing his light will continue to shine through the memories we share and the love he leaves behind.

Randy is survived by his siblings, Jerry and wife Yvonne Ables, Pam and husband Billy Mitchell, and Mendy and husband Billy Neighbors; nieces and nephews, Stacy and husband Darren Daniel, Jeremy Ables, Lori and husband Marty Dodson, Jill and husband Nick Philipello, Trisha Bagby, Trina and husband Kerry Shankles, and by numerous other family members.

Randy was preceded in death by his parents Guy and Peggy Ables.

Visitation will be from 6-8pm. Thursday, December 11th, 2025, at Wiley Funeral Home in Granbury.

Graveside services will be held at 2pm. Friday, December 12th, 2025, at Granbury Cemetery with Pastor Justin Jeter officiating.
