Jimmy Bloodworth

Jimmy D. Bloodworth, 92, passed away Sunday, December 7, 2025, at Lake Granbury Medical Center. He was born on January 8, 1933, to Gladys and Ollie Bloodworth. Jimmy was a longtime resident of DeCordova Bend in Granbury, Texas. 

He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Charlton Bloodworth. Those left to cherish his memory include his son, Jimmy D. Bloodworth and wife Lilly; his grandchildren, Nathan and Nikita; and his granddaughter, Kayla Bloodworth. Additional survivors include Susie Shaffer, Corrine Reuter, John Giles, Russell Giles, and Scott Giles.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his son, Ronnie Lynn Bloodworth of Fort Worth, Texas.

Jimmy proudly served his country in the United States military during the Korean War.

He began his career with the Santa Fe Railroad at the age of 16, working first as a dispatcher and later as a court reporter. Over 52 years of dedicated service, Jimmy became a respected and well-known figure within the Santa Fe Railroad. Following his retirement, he continued his career as a consultant for Canadian National Railroad, traveling throughout Canada to share his knowledge and expertise.

After retiring in 1992, Jimmy and Mary moved to DeCordova Bend, where he enjoyed golf, fishing, and following football. He was a two-time State Champion golfer and took great pride in the game. Jimmy also enjoyed traveling, with a favorite trip being to Scotland to attend The Open Championship at St Andrews.

Jimmy will be remembered for his strong work ethic, love for his family, and devotion to his country. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Interment will take place at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.
