Priscilla Anne McGreer

It is with deep sorrow that the family of Priscilla Anne McGreer announces her passing on August 30, 2025, at the age of 39.

Priscilla was born on May 2, 1986, and grew up in St. Albert, Alberta. She was the eldest of three children and is lovingly remembered by her parents, Edward (Ted) and Marilyn McGreer; her sister, Sarah McGreer; her brother, Sebastian McGreer; and her grandmother, Eileen Quinlan; many uncles, aunts, cousins and nephews .She also leaves behind her cherished cat, Orion.

Priscilla’s life reflected her passion for learning, teaching, and the arts. A gifted writer from an early age, she won an Alberta English writing contest in 1998 and had her poem Winter published by the Poetry Institute of Canada in 2000. She graduated from MacEwan University with a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature in 2016, later earning a master’s degree in cultural studies from Athabasca University in 2023. At the time of her passing, she was pursuing a Doctor of Education in Educational/Instructional Technology at Ontario Tech University.

Her career path included administrative and caregiving work, teaching with the St. Albert Further Education Association, and most recently serving as a part-time instructor at NorQuest College and as a literacy educator with The Learning Centre Literacy Association. She was deeply respected by her colleagues and adored by her students for her dedication, kindness, and thoughtful mentorship.

Priscilla will be remembered as a kind, humble, and empathetic soul with many talents. She was a devoted reader, a skilled pianist, and had a profound love for poetry, music, history, mythology, and literature. Her intellectual curiosity, gentle spirit, and generosity of heart touched everyone who knew her.
