Phillip E. Wilcox, age 87 of New Lisbon, passed away peacefully on July 24, 2025, at Crest View Nursing Home in New Lisbon, Wisconsin. Phillip was the son of Walter and Grace (Babcock) Wilcox and was born on February 23, 1938, in Seven Mile Creek, Juneau County, Wisconsin.
Phillip’s early years in Seven Mile Creek were filled with the simple joys of rural life, which laid the foundation for his strong work ethic and resilient spirit. His commitment to service was evident when he joined the United States Air Force, dedicating five years to his country. During his tenure, he was stationed at Skulthorpe AirForce Base in England, where he faced adversity with courage, surviving a harrowing incident that left him with lasting injuries. Despite the challenges, Philip’s strength and perseverance shone through, and he carried these qualities with him throughout his life.
After his honorable discharge, Phillip returned to Wisconsin, he married and had four beautiful children, and Phillip later divorced. Later in life he lived in Fox Valley for a while then went back to New Lisbon where he found work at Swiss Colony. His years of service there were characterized by the same dedication and excellence that he displayed in the Air Force. Phillip had an ability to fix and maintain anything with precision and care.
Phillip is survived by his loving daughter, Teresa (Troy) Briski of Kimberly, WI, and his adored grandchildren, who will miss his gentle guidance and unwavering support. He also leaves behind nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Inurnment will take place at a later date in the Greenwood Cemetery in Reedsburg. The Hare Funeral Home in New Lisbon is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences are available at www.harefuneralhome.com
