Phillip C. Pooley, 74, of Boone, Iowa, passed away at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames on Thursday, July 31, 2025. He was born on April 15, 1951, in Dixon, IL, the son of Thelma Pooley.
Phillip graduated from High School in Prophetstown, IL in 1970. He then attended and graduated from Sauk Valley Community College. He enlisted in the Air Force in 1970 and served until his honorable discharge in 1977. On July 16, 1990, he married Debra Davis at the Clinton County Courthouse. Phillip worked for BASF until his retirement in 2012. He enjoyed watching football, especially the Minnesota Vikings. He also enjoyed playing card games and other types of games.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Boone.
Phillip was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, a granddaughter, and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
He is survived by his spouse, Debra Davis-Pooley of Boone, two step-daughters, Tammy Dennis Benton of Boone, and Tina (Lucas) Stuart of Boone; grandchildren: Carolina (Austin) Cristobal of Madrid, Maximus Cristobal of Boone, Michael Cabrera of Boone, Brandon Stuart of Boone, and Maria Cabrera of Boone; two great-grandchildren; sister, Triesa (Shawn) Larson of Panama City, FL; nieces: Spyrit (Mark) Sorenson Larson of Story City, Diamond (Michael) Larson of Panama City, and Tasha (Gregg) Latson of Panama City.
