Patricia Hoffman

Patricia Marie Hoffman, age 88, of Palatine, IL, passed away peacefully on May 25, 2025. She was born on April 23, 1937, in Chicago, IL to the late Thomas and Signe Muldoon.

A devoted and loving mother, Patricia is survived by her children Fred (Jennifer), Daniel (Kathy), Eric, Thomas, and Barb (Mark) Lemke. She was preceded in death by her beloved son, James. She was a proud and cherished grandmother to Breanna (Drew), Mackenzie (Tyler), Sydney (Pedro), Katie, Patrick, Ben, Thomas J., Nicholas, and Rachael, and a joyful great-grandmother to Shiloh, Violet, Dylan, and Summer.

Pat made her home in Palatine for over 50 years, where she built a life centered around family, friendship, and community. She will be remembered for her kind and friendly spirit, a warm smile always ready to greet old friends and new. She had a special way of making everyone feel welcome and loved. Whether catching up over a phone call or meeting a friend for a slice of her favorite Bakers Square pie, she deeply valued her relationships and never missed a chance to connect.

She worked for 26 years at Zurich American Insurance, where she was a dedicated and respected employee. After retirement, she continued to give back to her community through many years of volunteer work at the Palatine Senior Center, where her generous heart and gentle nature made a lasting impact.

Pat was an avid reader and had a lifelong love for classic Western shows. She also had a talent for bringing people together through her cooking and baking – her famous 7-layer salad was always a crowd favorite at holiday gatherings. A true Chicago sports fan, she loved her Cubs and Bears no matter what, cheering them on through every season.

Patricia’s legacy of kindness, family devotion, a wonderful sense of humor, and quiet strength will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by all who knew her.

A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2025, from 12-4 PM at Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home, 185 E. Northwest Hwy., Palatine.
