October events at Washoe Lake State Park include spooky campfire stories, cornhole, fall festival and more

Washoe Lake State Park invites visitors to enjoy a full lineup of fall events throughout October.

Each program is open to the public, with only the standard park entrance fee required, $5 for Nevada residents and $10 for non-residents.

Saturday, October 11 | 6:30–7:30 p.m.
Enjoy s’mores by the fire, meet park staff, and learn about local wildlife. Ingredients provided while supplies last.

Nevada State Parks Foundation Cornhole Classic Series Opener

Saturday, October 11 | 10 a.m.–2 p.m.
Compete in a friendly cornhole tournament and help raise funds for Nevada State Parks. Team entry is $40, payable on-site. Register early through the Scoreholio App.
Location: Washoe Lake Group Use Area (Take a left after the fee booth)

Night Hike

Friday, October 17 | 7:30–9 p.m.
Take a guided 2.5-mile night hike along the South Loop Equestrian Trail. Bring a flashlight and dress for cool weather.

Campfire Stories

Saturday, October 18 | 6:30–7:30 p.m.
Create your own stories using illustrated cards in this fun, family-friendly game. Light refreshments provided while supplies last.
