Nicholas Stuart (Stu) Shaw passed away at home on 09/21/2025 at the age of 63 after a 2-year battle with cancer.
Stu was predeceased by his brother, Chris Shaw, in 2019 and his mother, Jennifer Shaw, in 2024. He is survived by his father, Joe Shaw, his brother, Joe Shaw and his wife Terry Shaw, his niece Brittany Shaw and her husband Alex Reimold, their children Gavin and Nora, as well as his niece Samantha Shaw, to whom he is godfather, and her husband Ben Broser.
Stu attended St. Phillip the Apostle School in Brigantine and then went on to Holy Spirit High School from which he graduated in 1980 and then Atlantic Community College.
Stu excelled in baseball at all levels, from Little League to Babe Ruth, High School and then on to Community College. He continued his passion for the sport by way of softball, which he played for many years in town with great success.
As a lifelong resident of Brigantine, Stu was a fixture around town. He started working at the Haunted Castle arcade as a teen and enjoyed many summers there. Eventually Stu took up landscaping on the island, collaborating with friends in the business as well as on his own.
Stu maintained many friendships over the years and was loved by all who knew him.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Stu’s Life Celebration Memorial Service on Saturday October 11th 2025 at 11:00am at Keates Plum Funeral Home, 3112 Brigantine Ave., Brigantine, NJ 08203.
